When it comes to Community Development and Engagement you need to consider a range of activities as different people will be attracted by different things. A great example that came from the Upper Murray after the Black Summer Fire in 2020 was Acres and Acres, a community food resilience project that has set up a network of community market gardens and now operates the Corryong Greengrocer. As the area was cut off by road and also power outages mean’t there was no refrigeration, ATMs or electronic payment fresh food wasn’t available for four weeks. A group of people led by Josh Collings decided to create Acres and Acres to both provide greater resilience but also to offer a people a chance to recover together.
